BOTS ARE NOW LIVE ON THE SERVER
As of September 22, bots are available for players to use. You can form a group with just bots, or fire up a merc and 4 bots. (up to 5 spawned total per player character). Newly created bots come with "newbie" gear at level 1. After that you're on your own for gearing them up. I've made some adjustments to the rule settings for bots which will help using them.
For a list of bot ^commands, you can type ^help in your game chat, or the EQEmu docs site has a page for that as well.
Some of the features in using bots that you may enjoy:
When creating a merc, you can give it names with camelcase format. MyBot instead of just Mybot.
Each newly created bot comes with low-level newbie starting gear.
You can spawn up to 5 bots at a time, per player character.
All bots can be given any race/class gear, no matter what the gear is tagged with.
Bots can buff familiars and heal charmed pets.
At level 50, mage bots can start summoning their epic pet.
Bots will level with their owner and automatically heal upon leveling.
Bots have ability to click equipped items.
Bots will ignore level-based haste caps.
HP and Mana regen has been slightly modded.
To see how to create a bot, just type ^botcreate help and you will get that popup window showing the values you must enter to creat a new bot.
It's format is ^botcreate botname class race gender
So for example, if you wanted to create an male Ogre warrior, named Basher, you would type:
^botcreate Basher 1 10 0
(1 is the class, 10 is the race and 0 is the gender)
Then to spawn him you simply type ^botspawn Basher
And, like a player, you have to send a normal invite to them to join your group.
To learn all about using them, visit the link above for all the bot commands. It can be overwhelming, but worth it once you practice.
