Rules for using Macroquest

On the Ruleset page it defines this in a simple statement - "MQ/2 is allowed as long as it is used with respect to the server and other players"

That is NOT an invitation to use every hacking plugin that is available to MQ users. The original intention of allowing it, was to make it easier for those who are boxing. Boxing was allowed simply because this server is not a solo server and never has been, right from day one. If there was no boxing allowed, then the use of MQ would be banned totally. It was anticipated long before launch that this server was going to be a low population server. And, personally, I like it that way. Just a small community that can log on and have fun and have a few laughs.

But if you're only running one toon, even though MQ is tolerated, it's highly unnecessary. Using it in deceiving ways, or to have an advantage over other players is unacceptable. Especially if you're using it get around the designated mechanics of this server. Using MQ to run your group is the only acceptable behavior that is not frowned upon.

Using MQ for zoning, warping, ghosting, or even putting yourself in a stealth type of anon, so you're not even seen on a /who list, is far beyond getting carried away and is NOT welcome on this server. Every player that logs on to play must be able to enjoy the same opportunities as the next player for content, without the choice of using MQ. If a player chooses not to box, they are already aware of limitations that can come with that decision. But just to reiterate, again, This is NOT a solo server! There has already been enough settings in place to help make things a little easier, such as reducing mob stats, allowing afk killing, etc.

I don't know if it's just me, but EQ has always been a social game. People have the right to play by themselves, but being able to integrate with other players, chat, have fun, have a few laughs, it's been a staple in EQ since it was created. Players would hollar out that there is a no trade item rotting in whatever zone. People liking other people. Has that changed ? hahaha
